Spinning Sisters of Fate
I’m a figment of my own imagination.
Yes, a fragment of who I
could have been, wanted to be,
and will become.
I am comely yet incomplete
and will never meet my true potential:
there’s only one of me after all
the options are considered.
Yet I’ve been true to my purpose here,
slivered thinly between then and want,
forever and so long
until we meet again in this mirror;
this story that is my life
spinning yarns only I
could have fabricated.

Hi Moira, This was an interesting post. It prompted me to wonder: have you ever met someone born on the “exact” same day as yourself?
What would it mean or what might it mean to meet someone like that…let’s say a “candlekin” or “twin soul” figure…
Make it more unusual or significant by supposing that you met this person “on” a shared birthday and that you were informed of the coincidence by that person and the person was of the opposite sex?
What would it mean to you astrologically or otherwise?
Welcome back, I hope you’re feeling well!

Your question begs my current re-immersion into the study of astrological nodes and their function with Pluto in the chart to indicate our evolutionary purposes.
Yes, I did survive a most amazing encounter with a woman I met on our birthday weekend at college orientation in summer of ’77. Her name was Nora … how synchronistic. We shared everything, except her lesbian politics. It was a deeply felt kinship/friendship that should have been allowed to flow … but she directed matters other ways. Obviously, our Ascendants were not in synch.
A very intimate question, you ask here.
Astrologically, we’d share the same everything, except the Moon and Ascendant degrees. We’d agree about everything, except how to most personally go about manifesting the energies. We’d also share the exact lunar nodes, which is a significant factor in natives who instantaneously “know” each other. This doesn’t necessarily result in a romantic/sexual liaison. It indicates someone who has shared past lives/events with you. The tighter the planetary aspects to those nodes, the more indicative that you shared very personal past lives.
I hope this clarifies some of the substance underlying the mystery of synchronistic meetings!

That is fascinating! I’m grateful for your sharing of your own personal experience. I’m curious, how would you establish whether or not this person was your “twin soul”? Do you believe that the exact “other” half of your yin/yang can manifest at the exact same time? What would it mean if this person at the exact moment you met her/him was a highly advanced musician/singer/poet and you yourself at the very moment were studying voice and music and yourself a singer/poet in the throes of deciding whether to pursue music professionally?
What if twenty years later you discovered that this person got sober the same year (within 2 months and by the same mechanism), suffered depression/anxiety to the same degree as yourself…debilitating at times and cyclic?
The thrust here is in deciding on the “twin soul” issue. I also was a philosophy major and was heavily influenced by Jung…
How would you proceed in trying to determine to what degree you were spiritually related to this person and what it means in more/fuller detail?
Obviously, I met such a person many years ago and I’ve wondered about it ever since…the only thing this person ever said to me on the occasion of meeting on our exact shared birthday was: “I’m sure this is significant somehow”
Did the person you met share your interest in the topic or find the meeting “significant”? What did you ultimately make of it?
My focus here is on the “twin soul” issue. I believe it is true what you say about “knowing” this person because I’ve felt that since day one and time has only deepened that sense for me. It seems clear that this is not likely to represent a sexual relationship although I do find her to be a compellingly sensual figure, as do millions of others, my main interest is in discovering whether or not she is m twin soul and what this means spiritually for me now and perhaps what it may mean for the coming post life period…obviously, this is a deep and complex issue so I appreciate whatever you can share or clarify. I’ve read everything I can get my hands on on the topic of “twin souls” and am convinced that she is a bullseye and paradoxically that all I can do is “let go”…and that trying to establish a personal relationship only damages the “psychic” aspects of the relationship that, I firmly believe with much evidence, does exist.
I’m deeply grateful for any light you can shed on this…I absolutely adore this person which makes it exponentially more painful….sounds like something someone made up I know but it’s even deeper than this….
If you can only answer briefly please focus on the “twinsoul” aspect…and any advice…thank you so much for “listening”…I’m sorry that I have to write this out in a public forum…

We possess the potential for meeting many twin souls, if our hearts and minds are open to those intuitive moments. Recovering from a lost “twin” in this life is indicative of how we lost them in a previous life. Recovering requires acceptance, an acknowledgement, a recognition of one-self in the enigmatic scheme of things. I think we can only survive the “loss” of a twin-soul in this life, by knowing they’ve been with us (and you with them) for previous lives. It’s rather like keeping the right photographs on your mantle, to remind you where’ you’ve been; who you’ve loved; and where you’ll take them with you. The irony is, most people surviving a hurricane or other natural disaster never have time to pack up the photos on their way to safety. So, like this, our twin-souls reside in our etheric being or intuitive memory. We’re lucky when we meet one of them again on this earth-plane. It is a gift to ourselves, regardless of how little or long that person remains in our physical frame of reference.
I survive these connections by honoring them. I let them go when it’s time to do so.
